Cemetery Spaces

Rules and Regulations for Cemetery Spaces

1.    A Certificate of Burial Rights Only will be furnished with a space purchased. The Medlin Cemetery Association maintains ownership of its land regardless of conventional burial or cremation.

2.    Payment may be made only by personal check, cashier’s check or money order. We do not accept cash or credit cards and do not allow payment plans. If payment is made with a personal check, the certificate will be mailed to the purchaser after the check has cleared.

3.    Medlin Cemetery reserves the exclusive right to repurchase previously sold space(s) at the original purchase price. Spaces will not be sold to third parties.

4.    The funeral home collects a $200.00 interment fee for a standard burial. If a funeral home is not involved, the responsible individual/family/friend will pay the $200.00 interment fee directly to the cemetery.

5.    In every interment the casket shall be enclosed in a vault or concrete grave liner. No vault is required for urns.

6.    When a monument is to be set, a member of the family, space purchaser, or family representative must be present. Arrangements must also be made for an officer of the Medlin Cemetery Association to be present. The misplacement or movement of a headstone is the sole responsibility of the purchaser/family.

7.    All monuments must fit on your space only. In the older portion of the cemetery, the spaces are 4’8” wide. In the new portion south of the pavilion, the monument must not exceed the 4’ width of the space, including the base and foundation. Only one upright monument may be placed on a space which has two cremations, two 3’ infant caskets, or one of each.

8.    The Medlin Cemetery Association is not responsible for any damages to monuments.

9.    A space may contain one conventional burial, two cremation urns, two 3’ infant caskets, or one cremation urn and one 3’ infant.

10.  No curbs or fences are permitted around a lot.

11.   As of 5-2-2021, no additional benches may be installed.

12.   Trees, flowers, shrubs and other plants may not be planted on gravesites.

13.   Wilted or faded flower arrangements shall be removed by the family.

14.   Officers of the Medlin Cemetery Association are all volunteers and make every effort to oversee the beauty of the cemetery. Please call any of the officers if you identify any issues at the cemetery which need attention. Contact information is available on the website, medlincemetery.net.

15.    The Medlin Cemetery Association holds an Annual Meeting in May. A letter is mailed to each member with notification of the date, start-time, and location of the meeting. Clean-up days are usually scheduled in the spring and fall.

16.    As a member of the Association, your presence at the Annual Meeting is important. That is when officers are elected and decisions involving maintenance, improvements, and investments that affect the Cemetery are made. You have a voice in the management of our beautiful and historic cemetery.

17.     It is also important for members to notify the Association if you have a change of address or a change in your phone numbers or email.

18.     All mailed correspondence should be addressed to the Medlin Cemetery Association, 1130 Trophy Club Drive, Trophy Club, TX 76262-5538.
